During the early 18th century elegant Georgian homes were built. Construction had to adhere to very specific architectural guidelines. The oldest buildings are North of the River Liffey in and around Henrietta Street but the Merrion Square and Fitzwilliam Square are the most well known. Originally all the doors were the same colour.
